One of our favourite pubs The Bell at Aldworth became CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2019 - huge congratulations!
Now I am sure that none of you need to be told about The Bells unique character and charm, but it just shows how a truly unique offering can thrive in todays world given the right people in charge. So again well done to Hugh and the family, maybe the White Lion will be in amongst the contenders in future years, who knows?
You may not be aware, but the Fleur de Lys in East Hagbourne near Didcot was a close runner-up to The Bell in CAMRA’s Central Southern Region Pub of the Year competition. The Bell went on to win the National Award, but if all the publicity makes it difficult to get into The Bell, you could always try the nex best thing!
