As we said in the Spring Newsletter-
The White Lion site is registered with SODC as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act.
The owner did make an initial appeal to SODC in September 2024 which was rejected.
As the timescales for making an appeal to a Tribunal hearing had long passed, and we and SODC had heard nothing about a Tribunal appeal we felt confident that the timescales involved meant the Owner had not appealed.
HOWEVER- we have now had notice that the Owner has appealed and the Tribunal will hear his appeal in late Summer/ Early Autumn.
So once again we will attend a Tribunal hearing, as we did in 2020, to make our case if asked to do so, and support the legal team from SODC.
We will let you know the outcome but that may not be until late October at the earliest.
Remember ‘In Principal Promises’ of Financial support, for when the time comes to set up a formal share offering, is one way we can show SODC and others we have the means to buy the property when it is to be sold.
‘In Principal Promises’ can be made on our website at the fundraising page, and your data is kept secure.
Thank you all for your continued support we can’t do this without you
