Is this another Hostelry in peril?

Now in these days when we have NO PUB at Crays Pond, many of us have had to go elsewhere for our Food and Drink.

One of the Pubs you may have visited could have been the Perch and Pike at South Stoke.

Once again it has shut as the last landlord relinquished the tennancy after a couple of years and Brakspears, despite 6 months notice,have not been able to attract another tenant.

Could it be the tennancy terms they are offering????

Maybe it was the terms of the tennancy that drove the last Landlord away..again???

Anyway the good folk of South Stoke (and North Stoke)  are a little ahead of the game and the Parish council (Well Done Parish Council) did get an ACV on the property a few months ago.

Now no-one knows what Brakspears have in mind for the property, but as a marker in the sand, the community have met along with the Parish Council and Maggie Filipova-Rivers ( Oxfordshire County Councillor) to explore options for the future.

One of the things they have done is set up a Facebook page, and if you want to support them, and lets face it, it is a very pleasant Pub for Families, Walkers , River users or just those who drop in for a drink, you can ‘follow’ them on Facebook at-
